Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya was conceptualised and founded by Rear Admiral Harish Malhotra in 2006. His credentials included a master’s degree in Defence and National Security Studies, followed by 37 years of Planning and Operations experience in the Indian Navy he specialized in the fields of Logistics, HRD and Training.

Since retirement as Rear Admiral in 1991, he was keenly involved in community development and environmental work with NGOs and citizen’s voluntary organizations. A distinguished personality with a keen insight into the changing socio-political, human development and environmental needs of the community, his team building and resource mobilizing abilities gave form to the organisation that continues to transform lives today.

Sunil’s career stands testimony to the belief that one who serves well can also be served well. A graduate in Agriculture Science, he was forced to leave the Kashmir valley following militancy & political disturbances. He set base in Noida since, running a flourishing hospitality enterprise.

A concerned citizen for the social well-being, he co-founded Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya in 2006, growing it from strength to strength, steered by his passion and determination to make a difference. He is the Chief Coordinator with a natural flair in sustained relationship building that has supported the organisation, bringing on board several individuals and corporates to join hands for quality growth of the organisation.

Sanjeeva Narayan, B. Com (Hons), FCA, ACS, is the Managing Partner of M/s Ashwani & Associates, Chartered Accountants for over last 30 years heading and managing Delhi operations. He actively writes on professional issues in “Taxmann”, Chartered Accountant Today. Apart from being a member of various committees in the ICAI, he also serves on the Board of several Private and Listed Companies.

Sanjeeva has been an active core team member of Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya since the very beginning, contributing his time and expertise in ensuring the stability and growth of the organisation.

Chetan Kak has been serving with the Government of India for over 20 years at various capacities in different states of India. With a wish to serve the nation, he has been associated with GSV as an Advisor, particularly in the growth of the school and child development.

Currently, he is posted in Delhi and looking after the northern states of India.

Ms. Guddi Nagi has had a cherished teaching career which culminated in holding the position of a Headmistress in Bal Bharati Public School, Noida, Sector 21. Ever since she left her active teaching career, she is associated with Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya as it’s Core Member.

Amongst her valuable contributions, she has been responsible for enhancing education quality and mentoring teachers through in-house workshops, improving their subject-based knowledge and teaching skills by training them to prepare weekly lesson plans, weekly evaluation sheets and conducting weekly Bal Sabha Activities for the students.

Raman is fortunate to have gained valuable experiences through diverse fields of work, meeting inspiring individuals who contributed to her versatility and confidence to achieve defined goals. She comes with an experience of having worked as Director Communications & Initiatives at Special Olympics Bharat, a National Sports Federation, recognised by the govt of India and accredited by Special Olympics International, USA, a global inclusion movement, promoting inclusion of persons with intellectual and developmental delays, through sports. At SO Bharat she steered the Communications department and strategized a robust inclusive youth engagement program activating several young people from multiple schools and colleges spread across the count

Driven through her passion for the Social Sector, in 2008, she joined a mission-driven group of like-minded people, who founded Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya, an organisation that facilitates life transforming experiences through education & holistic development of underprivileged children, often first-generation learners. She continues to serve the organization as an honorary member of the Core Team.

Raman is mindful of upgrading her skills and learnings, pursuing courses, from time to time, an interest that gained her certification in ‘Diversity & Inclusion at workplace’ and ‘UNICEF Communication for Development’.
