About Us
A ray of hope for the lesser privileged
Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya (GSV) which means empowerment through education, is a ‘school after school’, supported by the SHANTI NARAYAN MEMORIAL TRUST. The organisation offers opportunities to children belonging to the marginalized communities, to reinforce lessons learnt in the Government school that they are enrolled in. On 1 April 2025, GSV embarked a new journey, in collaboration with Miniland Public School. The donors of GSV committed to support the tuition fee of 100 students belonging to the economically weaker section (EWS) who will receive education in a CBSE affiliated school in the regular morning format. The first batch of students were selected through an entrance test, for admission in classes from Lower Kindergarten (LKG) to class 5. Besides, three teachers from GSV have been assigned to manage the morning school. Henceforth a new chapter opens in the history of GSV.
Additionally, activities and engagements are organized that aim towards shaping overall personalities enabling effective mainstreaming.
The endeavors of GSV are deeply rooted in achieving the UN-SDG #1,4 and 17 transforming lives of the students, families, teachers and communities; converting several from a poverty-stricken life to one that aims to achieve goals beyond basic necessities, through the power of quality education. The paradigm shift is demonstrated by several students who are currently pursuing higher education or are in employment, as a result of Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya’s intervention.
