Fun n Learn Activities

This is one activity that children eagerly look forward to and wish it never ends as they get to experience the world beyond thatched roofs and unhygienic environment.

Children love going out in a bus, visiting beautiful places, meeting well-dressed well-spoken people, learning newer things and eating burger, sandwich, pastries besides getting pictures clicked.

Some of the activities organized so far:

  • A day trip to Agra was organised for 60 children, 30 adult literacy women and 10 parents during the summer break.
  • Visit to the Parliament House in Feb 2010 was very informative with Delhi MP Sandeep Dixit accompanying our children and sharing the significance of Parliament of India and its role in democratic India. 31 children from secondary classes attended the same.
  • 50 Children attended ‘Bharat Utsav’ on the occasion of 60th Year of Independence at Talkatora Stadium and enjoyed the cultural performances presented by over 800 artists from across the nation.
  • 30 children enjoyed a day-out at Naval establishment in Nov’07 on the occasion of Navy week being celebrated every year along with amusing activities at Appu Ghar.
  • 35 children participated in Nature walk conducted by WWF at Delhi Chief Minister’s residence in Nov’07.
  • A day-out with Naval establishment on the occasion of Navy week in november, which has become an annual event for our children since 2007. This time it was organized at Rail Museum for 20 children along with magic show and lunch.
  • A full day excursion to Akshardham Temple in Dec’08 was a feast for 59 children with all the available rides and the food.
  • A pleasant winter picnic in Jan’09 to the National Zoological Park of Delhi provided an opportunity to enjoy the world of flora and fauna in its natural habitat for 52 children.
  • Periodically, children enjoy watching movies like Slumdog Millionaire, Three Idiots, etc in multiplex at PVR Spice Mall.
  • 15 high school students visited local basti in sec-16, Noida to keenly observe the living conditions, habits and behaviour of the local people in a different basti. This helped our children to retrospect their life after the introduction of Gyan Shakti Vidyalaya in their basti and measure the positive changes in their life since then.
  • Visit to Gandhi Smriti, Nehru Planetarium, Movies at multiplex and the like are all a part of ongoing periodical field trips.
